Masters of Education, Education Counseling
I am currently a 2nd year student pursing a Masters degree in Education Counseling at the prestigious Rossier School of Education.
The Educational Counseling (EC) program is designed for people seeking career or advancement opportunities in two-and four-year postsecondary institutions, with a focus on academic counseling and advising. The program combines a counseling-based theoretical foundation with practical applications in student affairs, in preparing graduates to serve as practitioners who promote and facilitate educational attainment in a range of postsecondary settings.
Courses in the Educational Counseling program examine the roles of counselors and advisors within the various contexts of higher education, while also focusing on the salient issues and needs of the diverse student populations they serve. Students benefit from the close involvement in the program by student affairs professionals with substantial management and leadership experience. Drawn from USC and neighboring institutions, these practitioners teach courses, provide guidance and act as mentors to current students.
